Exclusive: By Danjuma Aliyu, Editoral Director, DENISAURUS News
On Thursday 19 January 2017, President Muhammadu Buhari, PMB wrote a letter to the National Assembly asking to take a 10-day leave the following week. Not long after sending the letter, the President jetted out of the county.
This website has discovered vital information from a source familiar with the situation.
The source who disclosed the nature of the President’s illness and why he was quickly flown abroad for treatment revealed exclusively to the editor of DENISAURUS News that PMB’s test results were out.
The disclosure was made to DENISAURUS News a few days before the National Security Adviser’s decision to disband the arms probe panel set up by President Buhari.
Quick Get Away
Narrating the event, a government source explained that PMB, as he his fondly called, was meant to leave Nigeria for his UK medical vacation on Friday, January 20, 2017. However, due to the intense effect of the poisoning, PMB was hurriedly flown out on Thursday 19 January.
“You will recall that, at about the time PMB was to depart Nigeria for the UK, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was away at Davos for an official function. Traditionally, it would have been in appropriate for a vacuum to be left, without an immediate handover before the President travelled,” the source explained
“The sudden departure for the journey, when the one to act in that capacity was absent, proves the extent to which these dangerous enemies had gone far to fulfil their intentions, against PMB, ” the source went on to add.
Government officials have had to constantly reassure citizens about President Buhari’s condition.
There have been confusion over the state of the President’s health following several report by fake news websites which claimed he had died while receiving treatment in London.
Metro UK reported that President Buhari had died while receiving treatment in London. A fake Huffington Post-fm claimed he committed suicide.
Both of the fake sites are registered in Arizona, USA.
On January 17, a reporter claimed that the Acting Chair of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, had embarked on another round of marabout and fetishist indulgences against the President.
Mr Magu is said to have colluded with media ally such as the Premium times, Sahara Reporters and Nations to undermine the President and to discredit the President’s associates and appointees.
In the past, DENISAURUS News had informed Nigerians, that DG DSS Lawal M Daura is a very close confidant of PMB and sort of a relation. Hence, there would never have been a reason for DG DSS to betray President Buhari.
Thus, it has now been ascertained in factual term, from a former senior intelligence Officer, that Mr Lawal Daura is one of the most honest and Trust Worthy Security Chief, who is highly protective of the safety and well-being of PMB. Doing everything possible to avoid infiltration in any manner by all dangerous forces, with ulterior motives around the Presidency.
PMB Is Fine
Senator Saraki, the Turaki of Ilorin, led a delegation of principal officers of the National Assembly which includes the “Rt Honorable Yakubu Dogara and leader of Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan” in a visit to the President Buhari on February 15.
According to his verified twitter account: “We were delighted to see that President Buhari is doing well, was cheerful and in good spirits. The president I saw today is healthy, witty and himself.”
The details of yesterday’s meeting were not made available to the public, but sources say both leaders might have discussed the issue surrounding the re-presentation of the EFCC Mr Magu.
Senate Rejects Magu Based On DSS Report
The Senate had rejected the nomination of Mr Magu on Thursday 15, December, 2016, following an intelligence report it received from the state security.
A leading human right lawyer and activist in Lagos explained that by remaining in office, the rejected anti-graft boss, was violating section 2 (3) of the EFCC Act which made the condition of his position subject to his confirmation by the Senate.
On January, 16, 2017, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, had urged the Court to forthwith, restrain Mr Magu, from parading himself as acting chairman of the commission following the decision of the Senate to reject his nomination.
The absence of the presiding judge, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos had prevented the hearing from taking place last week.
The case hearing was scheduled to hold today, however, Mr Adegboruwa withdrew his case. He claimed that he had been persuaded to do so, so as to allow Mr Magu scale through his confirmation at the Senate.
EFCC sources say they “are concerned over Mr Adegoruwa’s decision to withdraw the case.
They explained that “Mr Adeboruwa had gone to court following the decision of the Senate to reject Mr Magu based on the intelligence report it received from the DSS. The DSS report is still hanging over Mr Magu’s neck.”
Rejected Acting Boss Lambasted Over Budget
The rejected chairman who had to defend Commission’s 2017 budget proposal, today was lambasted by the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes.
It was discovered that the Deputy Police Commissioner, who has led the anti-graft agency for more than a year approached and secured the sum of N1.8 billion from Presidency from the Service Wide Vote without legislative approval.
Magu’s EFCC also collected another N200million from the Service Wide Vote.
According to Mr. Magu, the N1.8billon was meant to settle salaries for 750 new cadets recruited into the service. He added that the N200m was for increase in the purchase of operational vehicles.
Despite a list of recoveries, there has been no conviction of any politically exposed person under Mr Magu’s stewardship.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Department of State Security, DSS, Lawal Musa Duara who wrote the intelligence report indicting Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is standing by the claims.
Sources informed DENISAURUS News that Mallam Duara is not backing down from the report that based the decision of the Senate to reject Mr Magu has the substantive chairman of the anti-graft agency.
