Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was earlier today arrested in the face of his subordinates, a source has confirmed to DENISAURUS News. 

Mr Magu, 58,  dubbed a “perennial offender” by the Department of State Services, DSS, was on his way to a meeting, when he was apprehended by a team of security operatives led by an Assistant Inspector General of Police.

Sources stated that Mr Magu, who resisted his arrest, tried to call a top government official for help from the Villa.

He is said to have picked his phone and called some one saying “sir, are you aware that I am about to be arrested.”

This paper is not sure, who Mr Magu, was talking to on the phone.

DENISAURUS News understands that Mr Magu does not like public embarrassment and would likely be “wee-weeing on his body at the moment.”

However, auxiliary staff, messengers, rank and file and cleaners who were among those present during the arrest of Mr Magu, were all jubilating at the pain of their boss.

The EFCC boss an indigene of Borno State, has always victimised and bullied them.

DENISAURUS News understands that to avail him with “fair hearing”, Mr  Magu had twice been invited by the Presidential Panel Investigating him on recovered loots, to come and give an account but he refused to do so.

Mr Magu was given reassurance this month, by his spiritualist that he was neither going to be removed nor be indicted by the Presidential PANEL.

But, upon failing to honour the invitation of the panel, an order was issued for his arrest today Monday, July 6, 2020.

The EFCC has tried to state that he was not arrested but was invited, however a senior member of the government said that this is not true.

Speaking to DENISAURUS News, a source at the Villa said: “No law enforcement agency invites a politically exposed person by accosting them on the street in dozen and get them arrested.

In other words, EFCC’s Magu was arrested and not invited. That means there are confirmed allegations that he has committed crimes against the state.”

According to the source, Mr Magu, whose illicit relationship with a clergy man, Prophet Emmanuel Omale, was busted by DENISAURUS News, should not be expected to return to that office. Nigerians should however, await the announcement of his sack and a replacement name in ernest.

DENISAURUS News contacted the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale for a comment, but he remained adamant that his boss was only invited by panel, set up by President Muhammadu Buhari, over the memo submitted by the Attorney General on 22 allegations of corruption, insubordination, and victimisation of staff members.
