Wild jubilation were captured at a navy office, after Ibok Ekwe Ibas, was replaced as the Chief of Naval Staff, CNS.

Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, 60, was among the service chiefs that were sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari, last night.

The 60-year-old, who has been replaced by Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, was accused of denying junior staff members things like their “housing benefits.”

DENISAURUS News, which saw a video, posted on twitter by @emmaikumeh, of staff celebrating the removal of their boss, was also able to read some posts detailing how bad staff welfare was during the reign of the Vice Admiral.

“The man stopped their housing benefits. He made sure only senior officers benefited, on like Chief of Air Staff who made the welfare of his colleagues (junior & senior officers) his priority. These Service Chiefs hv bn waiting 4 dis day to come so dt dey can go & enjoy their moni,” @toni1billion said.

In the video, which is posted in this report, excited officers are seen jumping up, because of the removal of CNS, Vice Admiral Ekwe, who was appointed in July 2015.

There have been several cases of mistreatment of staff by senior government officials since President Buhari was elected into office. DENISAURUS News, an online media that began publishing in 2014, published several petitions from staff members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against their now suspended boss, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu.

The petition was sent to President Buhari and the President of the eight Senate, Bukola Saraki.

Many of the allegation put against Mr Magu, by DENISAURUS News were corrobarroted by the Department of State Service, DSS.

Consequently, the lawmakers meant to confirm his nomination rejected him.

Mr Magu was also later accused by his substantive boss – the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, of diverting naira and assets worth billions. This also confirms a major report that was written by Adenike Lucas, the editor of DENISAURUS News.
