A couple, who returned a mobile phone worth thousands of Naira, that they found laying on the ground along the Lagos – Ibadan express way, have been hailed by the owner of the device.

Titus and Blessing, who reunited Daniel Ogunnaike, a popular photographer known as MCP and is based in Abeokuta, with his mobile phone, were hailed for their “exceptional honesty.”

Despite the fact that the pair from Mowe, are currently unemployed, DENISAURUS News gathered that when they saw the phone, which cost about 100 thousand naira, on the floor, they did not keep it, but, they looked for all avenue to locate and get the mobile device back to the owner.

DENISAURUS News understands that to have the phone returned to Mr Ogunaike, “the couple removed his SIM and inserted it into their small phone, in order to make calls to the nearest person to him due to the fact that the mobile phone was passworded.”

Mr Ogunnaike, who said he “had gone to Lagos on an assignment, believes his phone must have fallen “off my pocket when alighting for a fellow traveller.”

The honest couple, who picked up the phone “removed the SIM and tried to connect people on my contact so as to return the phone to me.”

Mr Ogunnaike, a professional cameraman, who has taken loads of photographs which includes memorable snaps of the inauguration of the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun was so stunned by the couples kind act.

He expressed deep gratitude to the couple, stating that even with the harsh economic situation in the country, the couple deployed an honest attitude.

He said: “as a photographer, I was momentarily pained by the loss of the phone because of the valuable information I have on it.”

But, he explained that when the couple reunited him with his phone, he “was so surprised that this kind of people still exist in Nigeria, despite the harsh economic realities.”

“It is even more surprising that the man is jobless and still he deemed it necessary to return my phone after I misplaced it,” he went to add.

“It is no doubt that the couple demonstrated a rare and exceptional honesty.”
