Key members of the All Progressives Congress in the U.K. visited President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday.
Mr Ade Omole, a Chieftain of the party led a team including Chieftain Joseph Adebola, and the Press Secretary, Miss Adenike Lucas.
President Buhari, in his traditional white attire, who was also joined by the Minister for Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; and his media team shared jokes for over an hour. He wittingly praised Alhaji Mohammed and reaffirmed his plans to return home soon.
Speaking with Alhaji Mohammed at a follow up meeting, Mr Omole said he was reassured by the fight against corruption.
He explained that: “The United Kingdom remains a very major support to the APC government. We are encouraged by the recent attempt made to recover wealth illegally stored abroad by the likes of Diezani Allison-Madueke, who is currently facing charges in the U.K.”
Onlookers spoke to the President who was full of energy. It was glaring that he was hale and hearty. This government has invested a substantial sum into infrastructure and as made plans to re-position the education sector.
“We are in support of President Buhari. Nigerians must not forget the damage made to the country by the past government. Things are finally looking up. I ask Nigerians to look at achievements such has the passing an amendment to the Universal Basic Education Act, the implementation of the N-Power programme and several government policies and initiatives as reasons to continue to support this administration.” Mr Omole added.
