KADUNA – Abba Yusuf, the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kano has succeed in causing an upset in the state.
Engineer Yusuf, who was first ruled out of participating in the election but allowed due to a ruling by an Appellate Court – received more votes than Abdullahi Ganduje, an incumbent governor.
Results from the collation centres indicates that the PDP received 1,011,145, while the APC polled 963,087.
DENISAURUS News understands that the total results are yet to be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. But the Commission that supervises elections in Nigeria has so far put Engineer Yusuf of the PDP in the lead with 960,004 votes, while Governor Ganduje of the APC is down with 953,522 votes.
Only only one Local Government, Nasarawa, that is yet announce its election results in Kano.
The paper understands that the Commissioner of Police in Kano, Muhammad Wakili is holding a crisis talk with the INEC over security in the building of the electoral commission.
DENISAURUS News reporters gathered that Isa Ashiru Kudan, the PDP Gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna has not been so successful with his campaign.
Alhaji Kudan, who was expected to do well in the elections received 814,168 votes compared to Governor Nasir El-rufai’s 1,045,427 vote.
The Governor who had lost so much goodwill from fellow members after bulldozing a building belonging to Suileman Hunkuyi, a serving senator in Kaduna State welcomed the results, while Alhaji Kudan is to challenge it at the Court.
