Senate President Bukola Saraki Condoles Death Of Former Osun Governor Isiaka Adeleke

The President of the Senate today expressed his condolences on the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

Senator Adeleke, an uncle to the popular Afrobeat artist, Davido, suffered a heart attack this morning.

At 15:73 pm, a family member, Adewale@ChairmanHKN tweeted the news: “RIP to my uncle Isiaka Adeleke. Gone too soon!”

The 62 year-old who was the first elected Governor of Osun State, represents Osun West in the upper chamber.

He was last seen at a party, before he took ill and was taken to hospital in Oshogbo, the Osun State capital, where he later died.

He was to be buried today at 4 pm according to Islamic rites. However, his family have ordered for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

In a tweet, Senator Saraki offered his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.

“Senator Adeleke’s contributions to the development of Osun State in particular and the nation in general will never be forgotten,” he wrote.

The former Governor of Kwara noted that his colleague was “always passionate about his work.

He said: “he always exhibited a distinct dedication and an ability to work with everyone.

“My heart goes out to the family of Senator Isiaka Adeleke and the people of the great State of Osun. Rest in Peace Distinguished Senator.”
