The All Progressives Congress, APC, a merger of five different political parties came into power in 2015. The party received a larger vote share based on the promise to do things differently from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Three years after the Presidential candidate of the APC, who was elected as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, has hardly made things better for Nigerians.
According to a former Governor of Yobe, the party has made things and Nigerians bitter. Senator Abba Bukar Ibrahim, who represents Yobe East is not the only one who has a bad word against the APC under President Muhammadu Buhari.

Many others have also spoken out against the ruling party describing it as a mafia and one that is worse than the PDP it displaced.

The APC under President Buhari claims to be fighting corruption, yet many ministers under this regime have been accused of wrong doing and some officials indicted for crimes, but nothing has been done yet.
The PDP struggled with dealing with corruption or so the Nigerian people were informed. But, while the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime dealt with a corrupt Inspector General of Police Tafa Balogun by charging, convicting and jailing him, the President Buhari’s government which swept into office under the guise of fighting corruption, there has been many folding of arms.
While the APC government has been in hot pursuit of opposition members such as Olisa Metuh, or the former NSA Sambo Dasuki who remains in detention despite many court granting him bail, the likes of President Buhari’s former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal indicted by the National Assembly is yet to be investigated by the anti-graft agencies.

It makes sense then what a former member of the ruling APC says that when it comes to “fighting corruption within the Presidency they use deodorants.”
Worse is that President Buhari, who is meant to be a man of integrity has other shadowy characters around him.

For instance, a close acquaintance of President Buhari was accused of collecting $5 million in bribes from contractors.
A leak video of the Kano State Governor collecting dollars in bribes has caused many to question the genuineness of the anti-corruption fight of the President.
Failure to remove Okoi Obono-Obla, an appointee of the Vice President Yemi Osinabjo, has caused huge worry as well.
Obono-Obla, the chairman, Special Presidential Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, was indicted by a panel in the House of Representative over forged West African Examinations Council, WAEC, results.
Even a member of the examination board confirmed that Obono-Obla’s certificate were fake, yet President Buhari is yet to react, despite a campaign from this paper to do so.

Similarly, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, was rejected by the lawmakers following an indicting report by the Department of State Security Services, DSS.
Despite his rejection, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo ensured the stay put of Mr Magu.
Without confirmation a person cannot become the chairman of the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The VP, a Pastor, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Professor of law, who claims Mr Magu did not need to be confirmed has obviously set a bad precedent.
And just like the PDP of old, the APC has also suffered infractions among its own members. The show down of a bad primaries has left many feeling bitter.
Those aggrieved have promised to work against the party, similar also was in 2014 when leading members of the PDP were openly working for the newly formed APC against its own Presidential candidate, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
