Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is currently seeking ways to avoid punishment for all his wrong doing (Impunity and Corruption).
Mr Magu, whose nomination as the fourth chairman of the anti-graft agency was rejected by lawmakers, after allegation of corruption by members of his staff was made to DENISAURUS News and confirmed in a report written by the Department of State Services, DSS, has made a move to speak to Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This paper understands that the “corrupt” police officer who has headed the EFCC since 2015, made the link to Mr Abubakar through Nuhu Ribadu, the pioneer chairman of the anti-graft commission.
Mr Magu, a perennial offender as described by the DSS, has also made another move to relocate and seek asylum in the United States of America (USA), if plans with Mr Atiku does not work.

DENISAURUS News has published exclusive reports on how Mr Magu through corruption, injustice and impunity destroyed the prestigious anti-graft agency that was set up by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Mr Magu due to leaking of confidential information caused the suspension of Nigeria’s Financial Intelligence Unit from Egmont.
The EFCC boss who was indicted before by a superior, knows he has done wrong and is said to be anxious about his fate.
In order to get immunity from investigation and prosecution, Mr Magu, had hoped to stand as a Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in his home state, Borno, however, an exclusive report on that ambition from this paper prevented him from doing so.
A source close to Mr Magu say that his luck might be running out, and he has decided to make other alternative plans.
Staff members of the EFCC, who have always complained about their bullying boss, say that the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and all others who have given Mr Magu support in the past, are all making alternative plans for their own future as well.
According to a senior government official, there are murmurings within President Muhammadu Buhari’s inner circle of his failings. The endorsement a former head of state gave to Mr Atiku, the President-to-be, has sent more of them into a frenzy.
President Buhari on his election promised to kill corruption, but he has not been successful in keeping his promises.
DENISAURUS News has always blamed Mr Magu for lack of convictions for cases of those Politically Exposed People, PEPs.
The only two PEPs convicted by the President Buhari administration will have their charges upturned by the Supreme Court.
Although the case was actually started in the past administration, this paper, which had previously stated the way a party chieftain has been manipulating Judges in Lagos State, understands that the case will be decided in favour of the two politicians because of mistakes caused by Mr Magu.
DENISAURUS News blames the “corrupt” official for the lack of conviction. The reason being that Mr Magu is the only detective that charges a suspect to court, before he commences investigation. Our legal advisers say this is a wrong approach to take.
Akin Olujimi SAN, the Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice at the time the EFCC was set up seem to agree. He noted the slow pace of Magu’s EFCC, when it comes to conviction.

He said: “As practitioners of the law, we have come to know that investigation of cases is not thorough. The judge was not there when the offence was allegedly committed and can only rely on the evidence produced by the prosecution.”
