A former President of Nigeria who served from 1999 – 2007, has meet up with a leading member of the opposition in Ondo.
DENISAURUS News understands that Olusegun Obasanjo, who also served as a military head of state, meet with Olusegun Mimiko, a leader of the Zenith Labour Party, in an attempt to build an alliance with other party’s before the Ondo elections on October 10, 2020.
The meeting which held at Chief Obasanjo’s residence in Ogun State, and attended by two former governors, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Gbenga Daniel, may see the PDP candidate Eyitayo Jegede collapse his structure into the ZLP.

Barrister Jegede received 888 votes to defeat the deputy governor Agboola Ajayi who scored 657 votes, in order to become the candidate of the PDP.
Mr Ajayi, who remains the deputy Governor despite being at loggerhead with the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has since defected to the ZLP and is the party’s governorship candidate.
But the election, many believe is a two horse race between the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Barrister Jegede, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, was the candidate of the PDP in the 2016 governorship election. He lost the election to the candidate of the APC
