In June 2015, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki was elected as the Senate President, making him the number three man in Nigeria.
With such a high position, it is certain that Senator Saraki, who represents Kwara Central will have to spend much time briefing President Muhammadu Buhari.
Yesterday in one of their usual telephone chats, the number one man joked about how the former Governor of Kwara state, was always working late into the night.
This conversation was publicised in one of Senator Saraki’s tweets.
In the same message, Senator Saraki confirmed to his 597K followers President Buhari was in “good spirits.” The both of them had spoken on Wednesday night.
The Senate President, who addressed NLC/TUC protesters at @nassnigeria revealed in his verified tweeter account, @bukolasaraki that the President “joked about my working late into the night, as usual.”
President Buhari is currently in London on vacation.
Rinsola Abiola @Bint_Moshood, aide Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representatives,tweeted to say that President @MBuhari him, (@YakubDogara) yesterday, Wednesday 8th February around 9:20 p.m. She said: “they spoke for over 5 minutes.”
The 73-year-old had to extend his holiday in order to receive the results of a test he had done while on holiday.
Sources confirmed to this blog that the President also held a meeting with former chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Bisi Akande and a chieftain of the party, Bola Tinubu at 2:30pm, today.
Meanwhile, Senator Saraki has assured the protesters he had heard them.
