Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, BOG, a former Gubernatorial candidate, is among those jostling to be the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the upcoming Lagos-East Senatorial by-election.
Mr Gbadamosi, who left the PDP to stand as the Governorship candidate of the
Action Democratic Party, ADP, in the 2019 elections, is battling the likes of Abiodun Oyefusi, Adedipe Shobajo, and three others to get the ticket.
Supporters of Mr Gbadamosi, a business man turned politician, told DENISAURUS News that they are confident that he would emerge the candidate of the party.
The party which is planning to select its candidate later today, has promised to hold fair election when selecting among the seven aspirants that they have.
Taofik Ganiu, the PDP’s spokesperson in Lagos, said the strongest candidate will be selected for the by-election scheduled to hold on October 31, 2020.
“What is operating in PDP Lagos now is that we are set for any election. For the Lagos Senatorial District By-election, we want to field our strongest candidate who will not be rejected by Lagosians.
“There are seven aspirants already.
He added: “We are aware that the APC national body is endorsing somebody and other aspirants are aggrieved. So, our doors are wide open for them to take advantage of it.”
