The Governor of Edo state is planning to seek a second term in office, DENISAURUS News can disclose.
Godwin Obaseki, who arrived at the Villa to present his nomination form to President Muhammadu Buhari, wants a second term, but Adams Oshiohmole, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress is hell bent on denying him the ticket.

Mr Oshiohmole, a former two time Governor of Edo state, who was recently investigated and indicted for breach of procurement of law, has been accused in the past of using the party ticket against members.

Governor Obaseki, who plans to defy his predecessor, has gained the support of the President.
“The president was quite warm, was quite welcoming when I showed him my special interest forms, he looked through it and attest to that he will not have to go through this again and wished me good luck and assured me of his support,” Governor Obaseki said after meeting with President Buhari in Abuja.

Seven governors close to the incumbent governor went to visit a chieftain of the party in Lagos to inform him of their plans for the upcoming elections, which primaries will be held this month.
