IMAGE LAUNDERING: Viewers Prevented From Joining Diaspora Political Group’s Virtual Meeting With EFCC’s Magu

A political group based in the United Kingdom hosted a virtual meeting with the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, to help him boost his image, but it limited the viewing to its inner caucus after a report leaked about their plans.

The group, which calls itself All Progressives Congress UK, held the meeting which DENISAURUS News had announced was to help EFCC’s Magu, who was described as a “perennial offender,” by a director-general of the Department of State Services, DSS, to warm himself into the heart of Nigerians living abroad.

This paper understands that many of those who were allowed to attend the meeting were senior members of the group, as they could not find many members of the public to join in the phone call in the way they wanted.

Lackeys of Mr Magu from the commission were also connected and present at the town hall meeting to give people the impression that it was well attended.

APC UK who went on to host the event on May 23, 2020, defied Get your Data Protection Right, GDPR rules by releasing pictures of those who attended the event.

Days after the meeting, Mr Magu issued a statement calling on Nigerians abroad, to call for the return to Nigeria, Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Minister of Petroleum living in the UK.

The group may be used to lead the protest which many sees as mere propaganda, because the correct channel for extradition of Mrs Alison-Madueke, 59, a British born, is not through protest. The request for extradition of person from another country, must be done the proper way from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation / Minister of Justice.

Mr Magu has also been contacted severally for a comment, but none has been received.

Some members of the public think it is time the EFCC boss is let to go, as he has been acting for too long.

Under a story posted by this paper, Humble Samuel stated that Mr Magu “has been acting for almost eight years now..is that how it was supposed to be?”

According to John O Azu: “The court suit should have been earlier than after Mr Magu illegally stayed up to 8 years instead of 6 months d case is won by d appellate it makes no sense. The court man by Mr Tanko a cabal member cannot even produce justice.”
