The All Progressives Congress, APC, has lifted the suspension it put on Ibikunle Amosun, the former Governor of Ogun State.
Senator Amosun, who was elected into the Upper Chamber to represent Ogun West in 2019, was suspended after the elections, for anti-party actions.
During the elections, Senator Amosun vowed not to support Dapo Abiodun, a successor chosen by his party members. Instead, he worked with Akinlade Adekunle, a member of the Allied People’s Movement, APM.

Mr Akinlade polled less votes than Governor Abiodun in the March 2019 elections.
Following the elections, the party decided to suspend Senator Amosun. Other members of the party such as the former Governor of Imo was also suspended.
Rochas Okorocha, who was elected as the Senator representing Imo West has also had his suspension lifted.
The spokesperson of the APC confirmed that the suspension of the two senators was now lifted. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party also confirmed that the suspension on Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo had also been lifted.
Lanre Issa-Onilu said: “Through the suspension, our party has shown the capacity and willingness to implement its own rules and enforce discipline when there is an infraction.
“We have also shown that no individual is above discipline and that the party will always apply equity and justice in the day to day running of the party.
“We hope the concerned party members will seize this opportunity to fully reconcile themselves with their ward, local government, and state party structures.
“They will key into the party activities, and continue to make their own contributions to the growth and stability of the party.”
DENISAURUS News understands that some members in Ogun are not happy that Senator Amosun’s suspension has been lifted.
Despite his suspension, Senator Amosun had gone on to secure Federal appointments for his allies in the state. Governor Abiodun was not able to do the same.
