Parent Disappointed By Nigeria’s Leader, Change Child’s Name From Buhari To Suleiman

A super fan of President Muhammadu Buhari, who named his son after the Nigerian leader, has had a change of mind.

The man who is from Katsina, President Buhari’s state name his son Buhari due to his love for the leader.

However, after watching President Buhari in office for more than four years, the man and his wife held a ceremony where they changed their son’s name from Buhari to Suleiman.

In 2015, President Buhari the first leader in Nigeria to unseat a democratically elected President offered change. But many say he has delivered.

During the President’s first four years in office, Nigeria overtook India to become the world’s poverty capital.

At the time, a former President and head of state, Olusegun Obasanjo began to warn Nigerian’s not to allow President Buhari in a second term.

President Buhari, who overthrew Chief Obasanjo’s successor from office in a coup plot was advised to take a “deserved rest” from politics and stop making excuses over his failure to achieve.

Chief Obasanjo who served as President from 1999 – 2007 noted “the first lesson I learnt in my military training is to never reinforce failure.”

“What we have now (Muhammadu Buhari) is failure,” he said at the time.

Despite his warnings, President Buhari was announced by Independent National Electoral Commission as the winner of the 2019 elections.
