Residents of  Trademore Estate, Airport Road, Abuja, watched in agog as Ibrahim Mustafa Magu was openly confronting a marabout in the area weeks back.Â
It seems like a work contracted by Mr Magu, the acting Chair of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, whom DENISAURUS News exclusively published his promotion as Commissioner of Police, way before it was announced by the Police Service Commission, had failed to yield the desired results.
Mr Magu, who wants to remain at the anti-graft agency in spite of two rejection from lawmakers, and a requirement to attend a mandatory course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies NIPSS, Jos, employed the aid of the marabout in his attempt to remain stay put.
But this paper understand he was given a letter for him to proceed to NIPSS, by the early week of November.
Mr Magu not happy with the work of the spiritualist, arrived with Mobile Police to arrest him.

Even though it is required that Mr Magu attends the senior executive course in Jos, the 57-year-old described as a “perennial offender” by the Department of State Services, has tried several tricks to absent himself from attending.
One of which was to get the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to remove his name from the list in 2017 and 2018.

The latest attempt from the EFCC boss was to import the marabout, which did not prevent President Muhammadu Buhari from giving a directive for Mr Magu to follow through with the required course.
At UNGA which happened early this month, President Buhari seems to favour the opinion of the PSC chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Smith.
Eye witnesses present at the meeting with the anti-graft boss and President Buhari, said Mr Magu, a native of Borno state, approached the 76-year-old President at a side event, where he began to cry and beg that he did not want to go to NIPSS.
“I have done so well there (EFCC),” Mr Magu was heard to have said.
But, the President who was not convinced by what insiders described as “crocodile tears,” stated that Mr Magu needs “to go on the course.” He said “it is very important for your career progression.”
Failing to achieve the desired request of Mr Magu, the EFCC boss took some MOPOL to the Trademoor Estate to arrest the marabout, who had promised to work in his favour and prevent his sack from the agency.
DENISAURUS News learned that most residents of the popular estate were watching, as the anti-graft boss was all out embarrassing his person and the agency which he represents.
Unfortunately, Mr Magu, did not know that most people recognised him vividly. He was seen getting aggressive with the marabout to the bewildering of passerby.
Those present say he was vociferously embarrassing himself.
DENISAURUS News understands that Mr Magu had engage the services of this new sets of marabout, who promised him a ‘stay-put’ at the anti-graft agency.
The anti-graft boss was highly provoked, because it has become obvious that President Buhari would be terminating his acting chair tenure in less than 10 days.
This is not the first time Mr Magu will make use of marabouts. We reported in 2017 that the anti-graft boss imported spiritualist from Niger over his desperation to become the substantive chairman of the EFCC.

This report which was provided to DENISAURUS News team by reliable sources was later confirmed by Lawal Daura, the erstwhile Director General of the Secret Police.
Alhaji Daura had revealed during a briefing at NASS eight Senate, on how EFCC’s Magu was using marabouts to run the affairs of the anti-graft agency.
The acting chair is not relenting to perpetuate himself at EFCC, he has intensified spiritual consultations.

The recent failed spiritual consultation, which turned sour has left the EFCC boss, known as the General, even more upset with staff members.
In a gruesome anger and vendetta unleashing, EFCC’s Magu has commenced an ’emotional blackmail’ of staff members, who he argues are working against him.
Document available to DENISAURUS News, revealed that Mr Magu is ready to fight tooth and nail, to ensure he vent all his misfortune on the staff members. The anti-graft boss is threatening to illegally send staff on ‘indefinite suspension’ without pay, should anyone fall into his trap anytime soon.

“Irrespective of the fact that indiscipline should not be condoned at the anti-graft agency, on what ground and binding statute is EFCC’s Magu relying on, to carry out this barbaric rage and obnoxious excise in futility?” A staff member asked in amusement.
Several staff members at the EFCC who have been speaking with DENISAURUS News, revealed that Mr Magu believes that his recent use of employment slots as a ‘bargaining-chip’ may salvage his predicament. However, all hope is lost for the ‘Perennial Offender’ who was described by the DSS in its October 2016 indicting report, as a ‘liability on the Anti-corruption Fight of the present administration’
Most staff of the anti-graft agency have been holding fasting and prayer sessions, in order to ease Mr Magu, a “log in the fight against corruption” out.
The acting Chair believed it is the fasting and prayer of his subordinates that must have turned back the hands of time against his ambition to get confirmed as fourth EFCC czar.
When Spokesperson Wilson Uwajuren of the anti-graft agency was contacted to ascertain if the operation, on the arrest of the marabouts, was for national interest or for EFCC Magu’s personal vendetta, no response was received.
Even till the time of filing this report, the commission remained silent, which has been the trend on DENISAURUS News enquiry.
