A man suspected to have participated in the violence that led to the hospitalisation of more than three people present at the campaign flag off of Babajide Sanwoolu, the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, has been named as Mustapha Adekunle aka Seigo.
Officers investigating the incident where three people including MC Oluomo whose real name is Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, was stabbed believe that “Seigo, an NURTW chieftain, came to the rally with a group of people and were identified at the entrance as supporters of the party.”
MC Oluomo, a leading chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), was suspected to have been hit by a rival gang of the union at the campaign rally of the APC guber candidate that took place in Ikeja on Tuesday (January 8).

According to Chike Oti, the command’s spokesman “at the tail end of the event, Seigo and his group, for a reason yet to be determined, violently engaged other supporters of the party.
“In the ensuing melee, one MC Oluomo, another NURTW chieftain, was stabbed and was rushed to EKO Hospital where he is currently recuperating while two other victims of the attack were taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
“The crisis was quickly contained by policemen at the venue.”
DENISAURUS News understands that the melee between the two NURTW faction occurred as the outgoing Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode was making a speech to the crowd.
Governor Ambode, who did not get the backing of his party to run for a second term was telling the crowd to trust the APC when gun shots were been fired into the air.
