President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, said that the former Governor of Kano Rabiu Musa Kwankaso used money meant for projects to launch his presidential campaign.
Senator Kwankwaso a two-term Governor who joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lost the Presidential primary ticket to Abubakar Atiku.

But the President who needs votes in places like Kano to return in 2019, said the former Governor who now represents Kano Central in the Upper Chamber started good projects, but diverted the balance of the money to contest for President.
The President made the scanting remark about Senator Kwankwaso during a recent meeting with members of the Nigerian community in Paris.

Despite many criticism of the present Governor of Kano, Umar Ganduje who is accused of collecting kickbacks from contractors, President Buhari, 75 accorded him well.
In a video seen by DENISAURUS News, the 75-year-old Nigerian President said: “This is the projects he (Kwankwaso) started but he diverted the balance of the money to go and contest for presidency instead of completing them.

“The good projects started by Kwankwaso in education and healthcare were completed by Ganduje and ordinary people in Kano are enjoying the benefits. I think that is very responsible of him. If it were another person, the projects may not be completed.”
