A former Director General, Media & Publicity to the Kaduna State Government has called on the current Governor to review the 24 hour curfew being observed in parts of the state.
Ahmed Maiyaki, who was former Director General, Media & Publicity during the tenure of Ramalan Yero, argued that the curfew would have negative impact on the lives of families of people from artisan or other menial job.

He said those people whose income is based on what they make daily will feel the brunt of the restriction to movement which was placed by Governor Nasir El-rufai after 55 people were killed.

Mr Ahmed Maiyaki, “People feed themselves and their families from the artisan or other menial jobs they engaged in every day.
“People cannot stock food because they do not have the means to do so. There is huge poverty among our people which is a major threat to peace.”
In a statement issued to journalists in Kaduna, Mr Maiyaki explained that the only “alternative to this, is for the government for provide some palliatives to the people of the state to avert economic explosion.”
