Festus Akinbusoye, a member of the Conservative Party has defeated the Labour party candidate in Bedford to become the first black Police Crime Commissioner in England.
DENISAURUS News followed the count, where Mr Akinbusoye a British-Nigerian received 51,700 votes in the first count.
The Labour candidate, David Michael, a former Police Officer and Councillor in the Lewisham area, received 35 percent of the vote.
Falling to secure 50 percent in the first count, the top two candidate had to go through a second count, which Mr Akinbusoye, 42, won to replace the exiting PPC, Kathryn Holloway, another Conservative member.
