The spokesperson for the socio-cultural organization for the Yoruba people of Nigeria, Afenifere, has died.
Yinka Odumakin, a rights activist, 59, who also served as a spokesperson for President Muhammadu Buhari, when he was seeking the highest office in 2011, passed away due to complication from Covid-19, his wife confirmed in a statement.
Dr Okei-Odumakin, an activist in her own right said “the sad event happened on Saturday morning at the intensive care unit of LASUTH where he was being managed for respiratory issues due to complications from COVID-19 which he had recovered from about a week ago.
“I appreciate the outpouring of grief and sympathy from home and abroad as I mourn my irreplaceable soulmate.”
