👤 EXCLUSIVE: Adenike Lucas and Danjuma Aliyu, DENISAURUS News
Operatives at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, known as the “Magu boys,” used their position and links to Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the suspended acting chairman of the anti-graft agency, in blackmailing Politically Exposed Persons, PEPs, into handing out large sum of money to them.
DENISAURUS News gathered authoritatively that the crew which includes one Usman Imam, the Zonal Head in Port Harcourt Zone, who was moved in from Enugu, is one of those who used his link with Mr Magu to extort a former Governor.
The Governor, identified as Rochas Okorocha, who is now a Senator under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was fraudulently told that there was a case against him.

“They had told the former Governor of Imo State that they had a case against him, but they were willing to kill it if he dropped money,” DENISAURUS News was informed by those familiar with the matter.
If the suspect pays, they will be assured that the case will not be leaked to the media and that they will not charge him to court.”
A police source in the Commission, noted that the Assistant Commissioner of Police Imam, who started the illegal investigation from Senator Okorocha collected over 2.5 million dollars through a lawyer and an errand boy. The ACP had moved a case from his region and jurisdiction which is in charge of Ebonyi, Imo and Anambra States, though it is not supposed to have been done.
They were emboldened when Mr Magu, came out publicly to state that Senator Okorocha was among those to be investigated.
“It is on record that the last administration of Rochas Okorocha is under investigation by the anti-graft agency, however the paramount questions that beats human imagination is the rule of law in this investigation,” one source explained.
The Head (ACP Usman Imam) was moved from Enugu Zone to Port-harcourt office. He personally carried over the files with him to Port-harcourt, which was outside the jurisdiction- what else if not vested interest, mala-fide and unnecessary extortion of funds through their appointed lawyer.
A call was made to the said lawyer, one Mr. Azodo on 0803***6327, who “acted as a middle man for collecting monies on behalf of the Zonal Head, amounting to several millions.
The money is said to be collected with the approval from the suspended acting EFCC Chairman “authorising him to do all these, for unqualified corrupt reasons.”

Outside the Imo State investigation, it is on record that the so called “Yahoo Boys” investigation, the Enugu Zone then recorded the highest number of Plea Bargain, following intimidation, extortion and confiscation of properties without following the rule of law.”
One of their errand boys is Inspector Lander Dennis, whose telephone number is 07030***352.
According to another source “because they are the “Magu boys,” each of these illegalities they perpetrated has a way of having its product getting to their boss.”
ACP Imam who was seconded to the commission over a decade, has always been a Magu Boy, along with Bolaji Johnson, the former head of Enugu.
ACP Johnson, is the man who had someone locked up in Makurdi Zonal Office, for a sharwama sale gone wrong.

ACP. Johnson, who made an attempt to call directly on 08036***8837, is a notorious member of the “Magu boys.”
The panel investigating Mr Magu, who has failed several times to account for assets and monies recovered during his watch, are being advised to bring ACP Johnson to “appear before the panel to account for the 100KVA MIKANO GENERATOR donated to the zone by ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT.”
They said “ACP Johnson diverted same to his personal house in OSUN STATE, through one of his boys Inspector Ibrahim Iyanda, who was his close ally at EFCC Enugu Zonal Office but currently serving at FCID Abuja. The panel can confirm this from ENUGU STATE GOVT.”
