Okezie Ikpeazu, the Abia state governor, has tested positive for coronavirus, DENISAURUS News has learned.
The commissioner of information in the state, John Okiyi Kalu, confirmed that the Governor was diagnosed with the deadly disease, that has claimed the lives of over 400,000 people worldwide.
Governor Ikpeazu, who was first tested on June 2, tested positive on “Thursday, 4th June, 2020,” when “the Governor submitted another sample at NCDC laboratory for confirmation and the result returned positive.”
President Muhammadu Buhari’s former powerful Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari died after contracting the virus while on a trip to Germany.

Many other prominent Nigerians – including the Emir of Rano, have died from the disease.
