The National Assembly/State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Lokoja has sacked Dino Melaye, the Senator representing Kogi West.Â
Senator Melaye, 45, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was declared the winner of the election held on February 26 2019, but the tribunal led by A.O. Chijiok has now ordered a fresh election.
The Tribunal’s decision to order a fresh election is not seen as a set back for the lawmaker who is planning to run for Governorship in the state anyway.
