British Nigerian Member of Parliament Fiona Oluyinka Onasanya Sentenced To Three Month For Lying About Speeding Ticket

Fiona Oluyinka Onasanaya, 35, a Member of Parliament of British descent has been sentenced to jail for lying to cover up a speeding ticket.

The 35-year-old, who was elected to represent Peterbrough in 2017, connived with her 34-year-old brother, Festus to pass the ticket to Aleks Antipow, despite being the one behind the wheel of a vehicle that was speeding on 24 July 2017 and 23 August 2017.

Ms Onansaya, who has been suspended by the Labour party, is appealing the judgement and hopes she can continue to serve as an MP after she serves her three-month sentence.

But, many have called for her to do the honourable thing and resign.

DENISAURUS News understand that if ten percent of the electorate in her constituency sign a recall petition, the lawmaker might go on to lose her seat through a by-election.

Sentencing her today, the judge said: “It’s a tragedy that you have found yourselves here and, in this predicament, but it’s a tragedy that you have brought on yourselves.”
