President Muhammadu Buhari, 76, has taken his re-election campaign to Onitsha, Anambra state, where he was received by the state Governor, Willie Obiano.
Despite being a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Governor Obiano arrived at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport to receive the President who arrived just before 10am.
The 76-year-old former head of state, the first candidate to defeat an incumbent President at the polls, is promising to take the country to the next level if re-elected in February 2019.
At a rally held at Holy Trinity field in Onitsha, President Buhari who was selected to fight for his second term ambition on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, spoke about the current project his administration was delivering for the people in the South East.
“We are also working on the Port Harcourt road to this place too, and I believe the minister of Transport (Rotimi Amaechi) has also told you of the railway project, which will also pass from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri, through some of your states.”
President Buhari, who went on to inaugurate the Zik Mausoleum in the state will go of to Enugu in a short while.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi , a member of the Peoples Democratic Party is to receive the President on his arrival in the state.
