The secondary school certificate issue of President Muhammadu Buhari is still in the headline weeks after the West Africa Examination Council issued an attestation certificate to the 75-year-old at the Aso Villa.
President Buhari, 75, is required by law to have completed secondary school to assume the highest position in the country, but instead of submitting his results to the electoral body in order to participate in the 2019 election, Nigeria’s Commander-in-Chief claimed his results was with the Army.

In his official twitter account, Nigeria’s President argued that he did have the results. He stated that “as a Nigerian military officer, it would have been impossible for me to have attended the Defence Services Staff College in India in 1973, and, after that – in 1979 – the United States Army War College, had I not sat for the WASC examinations, which I did in 1961.”

But a statement sent to Victor Uwajeh, shows that the President was not telling the truth.
According to the college: “Prior to the introduction of the master of strategic studies degree in 2000, the US army war college was a professional military education programme. No undergraduate or graduate credentials were required/submitted for attendance.”
