The invasion which the head of Nigeria’s internal secret agency refused to partake in but was carried out by subordinates at the DSS under the instructions of the National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno and supported by the Nigerian Police Force under the command of Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector General of Police, has been condemned by many.
While the DSS director has been relieved of his job, the police chief remains in office.
It has left many wondering over the decision taken by the Vice President on today’s invasion at the NASS where lawmakers had gathered to hold an emergency meeting in order to consider national issues – including a request made by President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently away from the country.
