Nigerian born soulstress Folashade Adu popularly known as Sade, has been awarded a CBE in the Queen’s birthday honour list.
The Smooth Operator who counts Drake as a super fan, has been recognised for her services to music. In 2002, the 58-year-old was honoured with Officer of the British Empire, OBE.
In what has been described as one of the most diverse honours list, Chichi Nwanoku, a Nigerian-Irish classical musician, was awarded with an OBE. Emile Sande and Ed Sheeran have also been awarded MBEs.
A policeman who was stabbed while trying to prevent a terrorist from entering the House of Parliament, has been awarded a posthumous George Medal.
PC Keith Palmer’s honour was included in the civilian gallantry list- released alongside the birthday honours.
