Simon Danczuk has resigned from the Labour party following a decision by the National Executive Committee to ban him from standing in any seat during the June 8 elections.

The Rochdale MP who was suspended for sending an improper text to a 17 year old girl, tweeted his letter of resignation less than 20 minutes ago.
