Asiwaju Tinubu Flaunts Wrongly Dated APC Membership Slip

👤 Abdul TukurDENISAURUS News

As the All Progressives Congress, APC, continues in its revalidation and membership drive, one of its founding leaders, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has gone to participate in the exercise today.

The ruling party is currently encouraging Nigerians to join their party before the next elections in 2023, so that they are able to select party candidates during the primaries.

President Muhammadu Buhari joined in the exercise from his home state, Daura, Katsina State on the 31st of January 2021.

Unfortunately, DENISAUARUS News observed that Asiwaju Tinubu, a former two term governor of Lagos state, who acts as a national leader of the ruling APC party, wrongly dated his membership slip. Instead of signing today’s date, Asiwaju dated it for Tuesday, 9th February.

In the membership slip that is now circulating the internet, Asiwaju Tinubu had put his date of birth as the 29th of March 1952, instead of the popularly known 28 March 1952.

DENISAURUS News is not sure if LA/KJA/11/00001, that Asiwaju Tinubu was seen holding, is valid.

A top member of the APC in Lagos confided with the editor of this paper that there were efforts to frustrate Asiwaju Tinubu out of the party, he and others came together to set up.

In 2014, various leaders of the opposition including Asiwaju Tinubu came together to create a mega party – which became the APC. By 2015, the APC was able to wrestle power from the arms of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It was the first time in Nigeria that an opposition had defeated an incumbent through the ballot box.

The APC also went on to win the 2019 elections. Howwever, Asiwaju Tinubu, who was one of the founding leaders of the APC is not even a recognised leader. He is holding the title of a “national leader,” a member grumbled to DENISUARUS News.

According to the member, “Asiwaju Tinubu no longer controls the list of members and there is a scheme to ensure things remain that way.

The new registration would ensure that there is a influx of new members, who would be directed to always vote against Aswijau’s candiadate.”

To make matters worse, President Buhari has warned that members must be allowed to select their leaders and no one should expect the old ways of taking orders from Abuja.
