A leading member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kano, Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. 

News of Dr Bichi, the party chairman and former Secretary to the Kano state government leaving the party was published in the media, hours after the PDP’s prayers against the APC’s governorship candidate was defeated at the Supreme court.

Media report has it that some members of Dr Bichi’s supporters will be leaving the PDP.

Dr Bichi, a close ally of Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former Senator and Governor of Kano was the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement in the state.

He is expected to address the public on his decision to leave the PDP later in the morning.
