A few hours ago, the Governor of Kaduna State acknowledged that his counter part in Kogi, who is seeking a second term, has offended the people in the state.
The incumbent Governor of Kogi, Yahaya Bello, has failed to pay the salaries of civil servant for 39 months.
But, Nasir El-Rufai, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC,who was re-elected in 2019 and was made the chairman of the Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council of the APC went on his kneels to apologies to the people.
In a video circulating the social media space, Governor El-rufai said Governor Bello, also of the APC should be forgiven.
“When you are young, you make mistakes. Please, I am kneeling down on my knees to beg you. Please, forgive whatever wrong he has done to you.
“I beg you all. Let us make history. Let us not dishonour the memory of Prince Abubakar Audu by allowing PDP to come back. We must work for the unity and progress of Kogi,” he said.
Governor El-rufai’s appology has not been well received. The statement has provoked a lot of fury amongst Nigerian online.
Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, a former Governorship candidate in Lagos said instead of the “shitty begging,” salaries should be paid.
“At least pay the bloody salaries first, every last outstanding kobo. What is all this shitty begging for, after starving an entire state for 36 months? These people are spawns of the devil.”
Another twitter user said El-rufai was begging the people to “re-elect failure.”
“Elrufai kneel down to beg for Yahaya failure,” @enyola said, adding that “sometimes @elrufai is smart then he goes bomboclat. What kinda of sorcery will make a sane adult do this kinda rubbish? Encouraging Kogi people to re-elect a failure as governor? Take him to Kaduna with you.”
