NEXT Deputy Senate President: Ekweremadu To Fight To Keep Position

The race for the leadership of the ninth National Assembly will come to an end tomorrow.

So far, DENISAURUS News understands two members of the ruling All Progressives Congress are contesting to become the next Senate President.

Ahmad Lawan, the representative fro Yobe north has the backing of party chieftains including Muhammadu Buhari, while Mohammed Ndume, a lawmaker from Borno has been told to step down his ambition.

This paper also learned that the Deputy Senate President will be contested by Ovie Omo-Agege.

Ike Ekweremadu, who was first elected into the upper chamber in 2003, will also seek to retain his position as the Deputy Senate President.
