Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, who had a 31-count charge bordering on corruption thrown out by a High Court judge, has been re-arrested this morning.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who arrested the suspended judge hours after she gained a favourable judgement from Justice Hakeem Oshodi in Lagos, stated that it was planning to institute a “fresh case against her.”
Justice Oshodi, who noted that the anti-graft agency led by Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, had not followed due process set by the National Judicial Council in disciplining erring judicial officers, said there was nothing that he could do to stop Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia’s arrest, as the “case has been closed.”
