He was going to find N400m to use to recall Senator Shehu Sani but he can’t pay our wages.”

Governor El-rufai, a former Minister who was elected Governor in 2015 claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari instructed him to punish any erring member of the All Progressives Congress.

The Governor identified Senator Shehu Sani as one of the erring members and said N400million was allocated to recall him.

The President has since denied that he authorised the recall of the lawmaker.

“The presidency wishes to distance President Muhammadu Buhari from a letter currently in circulation, which alleges that the President had authorized a Governor or anyone else for that matter to deal with traitors and disloyal members of APC, especially Senator Shehu Sani,” the statement read.

“We wish to confirm that the President is not aware of any such letter, let alone authorising anyone to deal with any party member.

“Given President Buhari’s record, it is inconceivable that he would usurp the role of the party leaders and instruct anyone to punish a party member.”

Senator Shehu Sani, who is fighting to get the ticket to contest under the APC said he “never believed that the President can ‘Direct’ a Governor to “recall a disloyal Senator.”

He said: it was “another executive lie busted.”
