George Uboh, Anti-Corruption Activist Receives Top Award From Student Union Leadership

George Uboh, an anti-corruption activist who has helped the Federal Government of Nigeria recover billions of Naira has been recognised by a prominent student union leadership in the country.

Dr Uboh, the founder of George Uboh Whistleblowers Network, GUWN, who has exposed endemic corruption at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, since the tenure of its pioneer chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, was honoured as the “icon of change” by the National Association of Nigerian Students.

In 2015, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, promised to kill corruption. In a bid to achieve his campaign promises, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government introduced the Whistle Blower Policy.

Through the his whistle blowers network,  Dr Uboh has traced over 400 billion for the Government. He promised to continue to fight graft when presented with the prestigious award on Monday 30 July, 2018.

The honour given at the National Outstanding Leadership Award 2018 ceremony was presented to the anti-corruption tsar in Abuja.
