A rematch between Anthony Joshua, 27, and Wladimir Klitschko, 41, has been approved by the International Boxing Federation.
The boxing governing body which was approached by Joshua’s promoters with an exemption to allow a rematch with the Ukranian instead of facing his mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev, gave the nod at its convention.
A condition was given that the match takes place before December 2.
Boxing fans will now see Joshua, who beat Klitschko in a Wembley Stadium, compete against each other at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on October 28.
The winner of the match will face Pulev.
