Members Start Petition To Recall Hon. Samaila Suileman

Exclusive: By Adenike Lucas

A petition calling for the sack of a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Kaduna North, has been signed by more than 4,000 people.

36 year-old, Samalia Suileman was elected in 2015, but some of his constituents are already calling for him to be unseated.

A resident who launched the petition to recall Honourable Suileman, went “door by door” to get the vote of no confidence against the lawmaker, because he has “failed in his duties” of representing them.

He argued that Hon Suileman who rode on the “popularity of President Muhammadu Buhari” to gain 111,778 votes in the HoR election, has not “sponsored any bill.”

He also said the lawmaker has failed to visit the constituency and that they were suffering as a result of his inefficiency.

The call to have Honourable Suilemam sacked follows plans by others to remove Senator Suileman Othman Hunkuyi, the Senate member for Kaduna North.

“The constituency has not benefited from any form of development since his election,” organisers of the petition against Honourable Suileman told DENISAURUS News.

“Our teeming youths are there without any empowerment, that is why we are taking the legal route to removing him and having him replaced with someone better,” he expressed.

DENISAURUS News has contacted  Honourable Suileman’s aide for comment.
