The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Finacial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu has just received his sack letter, DENISAURUS News has learned.
Mr Magu whose confirmation was rejected due to an indicting report by the Department of State Security, DSS, was unable to defend allegations made against him during his screening.
An EFCC source explained that a letter was delivered to Mr Magu from the Presidency, yesterday.
In the letter the anti-graft boss was asked to give a report on what he has done thus far. It is not certain if Mr Magu has sent a reply.
According to another source from the anti-graft agency, a sack letter for the Borno born Deputy Commissioner of Police has been issued.
The EFCC staff said: “some officials from the Presidency came to the agency to deliver the letter to Mr Magu.”
Even with the dismissal letter, DENISAURUS News gathered that some powerful forces are still trying to keep Mr Magu at the agency.
Members of the National Assembly stepped down the confirmation of 27 Resident Electoral Commissioners nonimee in protest against Mr Magu’s continued headship of the EFCC.
DENISAURUS News has been unable to speak to Mr Magu, because his phones are switched off.
