Significant Information About Arrested Hammajoda Received By DENISAURUS News. He Has Passed The Age Of Retirement.

A tip has been sent to Adenike Lucas, the editor of DENISAURUS News, about Hammajoda Hassan Muhammed, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC’s director of account, who we recently revealed was arrested.

Following the news of his arrest, which we published on July 11, an insider has now sent a detailed report on Hammajoda also spelt Ahmed Joda.

It turns out that Hammajoda has already gone pass the age of retirement, but for whatever reason AbdulRasheed Bawa kept him on “contract.”

In a message, a source who pleaded anonymity, stated that the current director of finance and account of the EFCC, “Ahmed Joda attained retirement age sometimes in January 2023 and got all benefits and entitlements due to him from the commission, but rather than retire, the almighty AbdulRasheed Bawa retained him in same office on contract.

“This is a man who was alleged to have committed monumental fraud while with the National Hajj Commission and a petition against him was before Bawa’s EFCC. He (Ahmed Joda) was invited by the commission and statement was obtained from him before he was granted bail and instructed to report to the commission periodically.”

Bawa, the youngest person to hold the position of chairman of the EFCC, was giving the boot by the President, over allegations that he was abusing his office. Nothing else was released to the public about Mr Bawa, who remains in the custody of the secret police.

This paper, an authority where it comes to reporting news on corruption due to many years of taking up cases of oppressed operatives, was told by insiders that Mr Bawa’s offence includes using proxies and nepotism.

There are also details on how the Chairman Monitoring Unit, CMU, is allegedly being used wrongly by Bawa.

A source said “Shehu Muhammed Ala and Mahmoud Tukur are the ones handling the CMU, where highly placed politicians and BH business tycoons are being investigated. That his boys are of the habits of harassing suspects and at the extort huge amount of money from them.”

“Other staff fronting or collecting kick back for Bawa include Rufa’i Zaki, Sambo Mayana erstwhile Deputy Chief of staff, Ngunan Kakwagh, his PA among others,” the source added.

They have called for all their arrested and since the report by DENISAURUS News on the CMU being mis-used, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed for it to be disbanded.

But, instead of the arrest of Ala, it was the director of accounts, Hammajoda that was arrested.

At the time the paper learnt that some of the discussion with Hammajoda include issues of payment of staff benefits. DENISAURUS News has learnt that staff payment such as the Proceed of Crime Allowance, POCA, has not been paid for the past seven months.

The non-payment of staff wages had also occurred during the time of Ibrahim Mustafa Magu.

DENISAURUS News, the only news site to report the issue at the time, understand that the welfare of staff when it is given paramount priority means more successes for the organisation.

Denying the staff such motivational benefits means they are susceptible to “bribe,” from rich suspects, who want to be free. These rich suspects are known for pushing huge amounts in dollars to achieve that freedom.

By failing to remit to staff the Proceed of Crime Allowance, POCA for the past seven months, Hammajoda may be putting vulnerable staff in desperate and tempting situation.

“One is made to wonder if some Nigerians are more Nigerian than others, or if some Nigerians are more equal than others. Joda’s withholding of allowances due to staff constantly exposes them to the temptation of succumbing to receiving bribes from suspects who are eagerly waiting to push dollars into their palms,” a staff expressed.

“Ahmed Joda derives pleasure in inflicting pains on Staff of the Commission by depriving them of their allowances without just cause,” the staff intoned, adding that “the Presidency or Directorate of State Security Service, DSS, cannot be seen or said to have done a thorough job with the investigation of Rasheed Bawa unless and until sacred cows like Joda are brought to justice.”

The staff made an appeal for the President to get acquainted with the operations of the commission.

President Tinubu is being asked to authorise a new investigation into Hammajoda. The staff believe his contract should be terminated because “we as a people must not allow corruption thrive, especially in an agency with clear mandate to fight corruption.”

“Is Bawa suggesting that there is no competent person in EFCC to take over from Joda or can government not second someone else from another ministry as it did when it inflicted EFCC with a man like Joda?”

DENISAURUS News made several calls to the commission to get confirmation about Hammajoda’s work contract, but was unable to get any officials to speak.
