The Independent National Electoral Commission has presented Certificate of Return to Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Governor Akeredolu and the deputy governor-Elect, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa received 292,830 to defeat his closest rival Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Governor-elect was first elected in 2016, when he defeated Barrister Jegede.
In the new election that took place on October 10, Governor Akeredolu, was forced to select a new deputy, because Agboola Ajayi, his previous running mate had decamped to PDP – then Zenith Labour Party, having failed to pick up the Governorship ticket.
Mr Ajayi received the third largest amount of votes and has vowed to complete his four year tenure- which comes to an end in February 2021.
