A Federal High Court, Abuja, has sentenced the former National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to 39 years in prison for money laundering.
Olisa Metuh, who was present in court as the judgement was read out today, was said to have unlawfully received N400 million from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA.
Chief Metuh who faced a charge of nine counts, was indicted on count one.

The judgement was delivered by Justice Okon Abang. Justice Abang noted that in his view “Metuh took possession of the N400 million from the office of the NSA without contractual agreement; he is guilty of money laundering and is hereby convicted on count one.”
“It is, therefore, manifestly clear that the defendant converted the money for PDP campaign activities and I find him guilty and is hereby convicted accordingly,” Justice Abang added.
