The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Lagos, Jimi Agbaje has selected a serving director of the First Bank Oluwayemisi Haleemat Busari to be his deputy.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the Jimi Agbaje Campaign Organisation (JACO), Felix Oboagwina, who confirmed the selection said Mrs Busari “came highly recommended and widely endorsed.”
He said: “Stakeholders all agree that without any iota of a doubt, the Jimi-Haleemat combination is a winning ticket on every count.”
Mrs Busari, 54, a law graduate from the University of Lagos, who was called to bar in 1991, is a princess of the Kosoko royal family from Isale Eko.
The PDP candidate who lost the Governorship election to Akinwunmi Ambode, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in 2015, hopes the selection of Mrs Busari, an indigene of Epe will shore up votes in 2019.

In 2015, the APC received 31498 votes compared to PDP’s 13425 in Epe Mainland – where the running mate of the PDP candidate and the current Governor are from.
Critics believe the APC has less chance of winning the elections in Lagos, after the party denied Governor Ambode a second term.
Governor Ambode who seem to have peeved of a faction loyal to a party chieftain has now thrown his weight behind the party’s candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who he said has had course to seek “rehabilitation” at a hospital in Gbagada.
