For more than two years, the people of Osun worked hard, yet received only half of their salaries.
Their Governor Rauf Aregbesola, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, despite receipt of the Paris club loan refund, said he could not pay their wages.
It was only days to the elections that directive were given by the state governor and backdate of salaries were paid.
The Federal Government also decided to launch the Trader Moni Loan in the state a few days before the citizens go to the polls.
At best, this last minute aid to the people of Osun, can be described as is nothing but bribe money. To be honest, when the World Bank, US and Swiss Government negotiated with Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice, to return $321 million shored in Luxembourg by the late General Sani Abacha, the aim was for it to be used to establish a tangible project to aid the people of Nigeria, not as “loan” or “election bribe money.”
The callousness of the ruling party. To think after depriving workers of their entitlement for so long, they would have the cheek to then ask for their votes.
Mr Aregbesola’s failure as a governor is not only limited to the aspect of pay alone. He failed the students in the state of Osun, as he named it in 2017. The pupils of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology were forced to sit at home for months because the school was shut down. The Governor of Osun and (Abiola Ajimobi) his Oyo counterpart refused to bail out the school.
Other areas that suffered the wrath of Mr Aregbesola’s incompetence were the traditional rulers. They were totally side-lined. But during elections, the likes of the outgoing governor would go to their court to seek audience, thinking that they have no choice but to do their bidding.
It is that confidence one certain chieftain had to go to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, to say they don’t have his kind of money.
“I’m not abusing the state. I asked those saying that I’m trying to plant (Gboyega) Oyetola (APC candidate) in Osun, that how much does Osun have? Osun doesn’t have my kind of money,” the chieftain, a prominent APC member said.
We trust Ijesha people.. Osogbo, Ede, Iwo… people, they would vote out incompetence today. This paper stands with you as you do so.
DENISAURUS News has constantly spoken about injustice and corruption; a widespread malaise that is destroying the country.
It is unfortunate that a party that rode on the ticket of change as been nothing but disappointing. There have been so many top individuals within this government who have been accused of corruption.
For example, this paper was the first to receive information about corruption perpetuated by Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Allegations of corruption, impunity and injustice were made against Mr Magu by his staff members. This were all reported by this paper and later confirmed by the Department of State Security Service, DSS. Yet, a top government official has constantly defended Mr Magu.
A top source told the editor of this paper in 2017, that Mr Magu was being buoyed by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo because of 2019, when he would be used to fight opposition members.
Since we published that piece in 2017, so many things have happened showing that our report about Professor Osinbajo and Mr Magu’s illegal stay at the EFCC, was for was the reason explained to us by our sources.
The tweet published by the anti-graft agency hours after the Ekiti elections shows that what we reported about Professor Osinbajo’s plans for Mr Magu in 2019 is nothing but the truth.

The signs are there, President Muhammadu Buhari has done nothing to strengthen the institutions. His fight against corruption has been a ruse. There has been no prosecution, but what we see is persecution of the opposition.
It is time to fight this incompetent government. Starting with Osun, Vote Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
