Despite a few glitches caused by the Federal Government, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has gone ahead to announce his plan to seek the presidency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Senator Kwankwaso made the announcement at the Chida Hotel in Jabi, Abuja today, after the Federal Capital Territory Administration withdrew the approval granted to the Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation, KCO for the use of the Eagle Square.
The FG’s decision to stop the lawmaker from using the venue has been condemned by other presidential aspirers including Atiku Abubakar.
DENISAURUS News understands that Senator Kwankwaso’s announcement puts him against President Muhammadu Buhari, who has also declared plans to seek office in 2019.
The lawmaker who recently left the ruling All Progressives Congress promised to provide “good quality universal education,” if elected.
Speaking to a mammoth crowd, he said: “Today, I declare that I am going to vie for the office of President Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
“As a custodian of your culture, heritage and history and also creating confidence in all Nigerians across the states, sectors and talents,” he added.
“We believe that education is the cornerstone of any development and nation-building and are very strong for fighting inequality, injustice and poverty. Education shall be a cardinal point of our administration.
“We shall provide ICT compliant high-quality personal development education and research for development.
“It will be made accessible to all. We are committed to providing good quality universal education from pre-primary to tertiary and vocational school level. We shall provide accessible, quality education to all Nigerians.”
