#SARAKISPEAKS: How @AsiwajuTinubu Is Trading National Concerns For His 2023 Presidential Ambition, Revealed – Senate President @BukolaSaraki

👤 By Danjuma Aliyu

The Senate President Bukola Saraki has exposed a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, whose ambition it is to be Commander-in-Chief in 2023.

The representative for Kwara Central Senatorial District was forced to hit back after Bola Ahmed Tinubu, falsely claimed defectors left the ruling APC to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP because they were being denied automatic ticket.

Senator Saraki, a former Kwara state governor denied the claims made by the Party Chieftain and instead insisted he left the APC because the “Buhari administration consistently treats the legislature with contempt and acts as if the lawmaking body should be an appendage of the Executive.”

“To me, this is unacceptable,” he said.

Reports of legislators clashing with the Executive arm of government have been widely circulated in the media.

Following the clash, prominent members of the ruling party in the National Assembly decided to decamp to the PDP.

This paper understands that attempts were made by President Muhammadu Buhari to reconcile with the leaders of the National Assembly.  The President delegated his vice, Yemi Osinbajo to head a reconciliation panel to sort the issues between the two arms of Government.

But, Government sources informed this paper that the Vice President who was recommended by Asiwaju Tinubu, “put more wood in the fire.”

Professor Osinbajo, a former Attorney General of Lagos during the Governorship of the party Chieftain made worse a situation by deliberately undermining the NASS Senate over its decision to reject the nomination of  Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the “corrupt” acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The Department of State Service said Mr Magu would be a liability to the corruption fight.

The damning dossier against Mr Magu whose suspicious promotion was first reported by DENISAURUS News proved to be correct.

Mr Magu was reported to be the cause of the suspension – as exclusively reported by this paper back in May 2017.

Mr Magu remains in office due to the support he gets from the Vice President, Asiwaju Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

Our investigation in 2017 revealed that Asiwaju Tinubu, a chieftain of the APC was using his protégé in government for his political ambition.

At the time we unearthed how Asiwaju Tinubu was using Professor Osinbajo and EFCC’s Magu, a “perennial offender” to pave the way for his political plots.

DENISAURUS News previously revealed that Asiwaju Tinubu was looking to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.

The anti-graft agency was used to attack perceived enemies and anyone who might be a tough challenger against Asiwaju Tinubu, this paper gathered.

Though he admits in private that President Buhari has failed to perform, the bid to become the number one citzen of Nigeria at a desperate cost means, Asiwaju Tinubu is willing to support the failed Government come 2019, the Senate President revealed.

The revelation put to doubt all the promises from the Government about a 2023 igbo Presidency.

2023 Igbo Presidency Rhetoric

The presidency through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, have tried to get the igbo votes by promising them the number one seat after the second term of President Buhari.

However, in his reply titled The Tinubu Rhetoric: My Response, Senator Saraki said that Asiwaju Tinubu “expressed a strong opinion that he would rather ‘support a Buhari on the hospital stretcher’ to get a second term because in 2023, power will shift to the South-west. This viewpoint of Tinubu’s was not only expressed to me but to several of my colleagues. So much for acting in national interest.

“It is clear that while my own decision is based on protecting the collective national interest, Tinubu will rather live with the identified inadequacies of the government for the sake of fulfilling and preserving his presidential ambition in 2023.”

Asiwaju Tinubu, had hoped to become the Vice President in 2015, but the Senate President advised against a “Muslim/Muslim”ticket.

Senator Saraki said “Again, let me reiterate my position that my uncertain and complex relationship with Tinubu has been continually defined by the event of 2014 when myself and other leaders of the APC opposed the Muslim-Muslim ticket arrangement about to be foisted on the APC for the 2015 polls.

“It should be noted that he has not forgotten the fact that I took the bull by the horns and told him that in the interest of the country, he should accept the need for the party to present a balanced ticket for the 2015 General Elections in terms of religion and geo-political zones. Since that time he has been very active; plotting at every point to undermine me, both within and outside the National Assembly.

“It is a surprise to me that Asiwaju Tinubu is still peddling the falsehood about the fact that my defection is about automatic ticket and sharing of resources. Members of the public will recall that when the issue of my decision to quit APC came to the fore and many APC leaders were holding meetings with me, a newspaper owned by the same Tinubu published a false report about the promise of automatic tickets, oil blocks and other benefits.

“I immediately rebutted their claims and categorically stated that I never discussed any such personal and pecuniary benefits with anybody. My challenge that anybody who has contrary facts should come forward with them still remains open.”
