A labour Member of Parliament who was charged with two-count of seeking to pervert the course of justice has denied the allegation.
Fiona Oluyinka Onasanya is accused of lying about who was behind the wheel of a vehicle that was speeding on 24 July 2017 and 23 August 2017.
According to court documents, Ms Onasanya who was elected in 2017, and her junior brother Festus Onansanya were caught speeding on July 24, however the points were passed on to Aleks Antipow, a third party.
The allegations are similar to the charges that brought an end to Chris Huhne’s career.
Taking to her verified twitter account, the Labour MP for Peterborough who is to appear at the Old Bailey with Festus, 33 on 13 August, denied the allegation. She said it would be “robustly” defended.

“I will be robustly defending all these allegations, and strongly refute any suggestions that I have broken the law. As these proceedings are now ongoing, I will be making no further comment on the matter.”
The 34-year-old, a solicitor by training, said she had received “messages of support” and promised to continue to “stand up for my constituency and be a voice for change.”
