A lawmaker who exposed high levels of corruption perpetuated by his state Governor has reported how bullets were sprayed into his jeep.
Senator Dino Melaye, an anti-corruption activist who was elected to represent Kogi-West survived the attack which saw “20 bullet” shot at his vehicle took place this afternoon. It is the second time an attempt has been made on his life.
The lawmaker who was on his way to Isanlu in Yagba East local government council to commission some projects when the assassination attempt took place, said it was God that saved his life.

“I thank God for spearing my life once again. Over 20 bullets holes on my jeep. Combination of police, SARS and military. God i thank you,” he said.
Today’s attack comes hours after political thugs burnt down a project, a block of four furnished classrooms at Government Girls Secondary School, Sarkin-Noma, that was to be commissioned by Senator Melaye.

Some people belive the destruction of the project might be linked tot he Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, who the 44-year-old lawmaker has had a long run with, following his demand that all civil workers in the state must be paid their dues.
